Who We Are....
The Northwest Bergen Mutual Aid Association is a commitment of 14 Fire and 3 Rescue groups encompassing 14 towns to provide equipment and manpower to any one member of the Association if the resources available in that town cannot meet the needs of a particular emergency.
`
Throughout the Mutual Aid Association, more and more towns are relying on this intra-local agreement every year. For instance, OSHA regulations requiring a two-out engine and fast teams at all structure fires have further stretched the depleted and dwindling ranks of paid and volunteer fire departments. This agreement temporarily addresses the manpower needs and shortages facing many local departments.
